Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Payroll Manager

Preferred candidate profile

Payroll Management:

Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for ~110,000 employees (weekly/monthly cycles)
Validate attendance data, overtime, shift allowances, incentives, and other earnings/deductions
Coordinate with plant HRs, time office, and operations teams for real-time data updates

Compliance & Statutory Requirements:

Ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws (PF, ESIC, Bonus Act, Minimum Wages, etc.)
Timely filing of statutory returns and submissions to government authorities
Maintain audit readiness and support statutory/internal audits

System & Process Ownership:

Manage and optimize payroll systems (SAP/Oracle/Ramco/GreytHR or other platforms)
Oversee integration of payroll systems with attendance and HRMS
Implement automation, cost reduction, and process improvement initiatives

Stakeholder Coordination:

Collaborate with HR, Finance, Compliance, Audit, and external vendors
Handle employee queries and grievances related to payroll
Ensure proper documentation and data confidentiality

People & Vendor Management:

Manage a team of payroll executives and third-party vendor staff
Conduct training sessions and build internal capability
Monitor SLA adherence by payroll processing partners (if outsourced)

Reporting & Analytics:

Generate monthly payroll reports, variance analysis, and dashboards for leadership
Track headcount cost, CTC trend, payout anomalies, and statutory payments
