About the Role

UBLR (UnboxingBLR Foundation) (www.unboxingblr.com) is seeking a Lead – Media & Strategic Communication to design and drive its communications, media, and public relations strategy. 

This senior role is responsible for building UBLR’s public voice, positioning its founder and initiatives, and ensuring strong, consistent storytelling across media platforms.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with 8+ years of experience in PR, media relations, and strategic content, capable of operating at both the strategic and execution levels while guiding agencies and partners.

Key Responsibilities

● Strategic Communications: Develop and implement UBLR’s communications & PR strategy to enhance visibility and reputation.

● Founder Branding: Lead branding and spokesperson positioning for the Founder and leadership team through media outreach, thought-leadership platforms, and interviews.

● Media Relations: Build and manage strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across print, broadcast, and digital media.

● Content Leadership: Draft and edit press releases, op-eds, speeches, quotes, and campaign narratives for spokespersons.

● Visibility Opportunities: Identify and leverage awards, events, and public forums to showcase UBLR’s work and leadership.

● Agency Oversight: Manage PR agency workstreams, ensuring alignment with UBLR’s communications goals.

● Media Engagements: Organize press events, editor roundtables, media launches, and pitch for speaking opportunities.

● Strategic Counsel: Provide communication insights to leadership and program teams.

● Messaging Consistency: Ensure aligned messaging across UBLR initiatives, including flagship programs such as BLR Hubba.

Qualifications & Experience

● 8+ years of experience in Communications, PR, or Media Relations.

● Strong track record in building organizational and leadership visibility.

● Established media network in Bengaluru and across national platforms.

● Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

● Proven experience managing PR agencies, campaigns, and media events.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with diverse stakeholders.
