Lab Technician (HOME TEXTILES)

Job Title: Lab Technician – Home Textiles

Department: Quality / Testing Laboratory
Location: [A-56 , NOIDA SEC-4 , NEAR TO SEC 16 METRO]
Reports To: QA Manager / Lab Head / Technical Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and quality-focused Lab Technician to join our Home Textiles team. The role involves conducting physical and chemical tests on fabrics, yarns, and finished products such as cushion covers, quilts, rugs, and carpets, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine quality tests on raw materials, in-process items, and finished home textile products.
• Conduct physical testing such as:
• GSM (grams per square meter)
• Fabric strength (tear, tensile)
• Dimensional stability/shrinkage
• Pilling & abrasion resistance
• Seam slippage
• Colorfastness (to washing, rubbing, light)
• Water absorbency/wicking (for quilts, covers)
• Thickness and density (for rugs/carpets)
• Conduct chemical tests, if applicable, such as:
• pH value
• Formaldehyde content
• AZO dye test
• Heavy metals (for export standards)
• Maintain accurate test records, reports, and documentation as per ISO/Buyer/Audit requirements.
• Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for fabric or product quality issues.
• Work closely with QA, Production, and Merchandising teams for lab approvals, testing timelines, and customer submissions.
• Support lab dip evaluations, color matching, and fastness testing.
• Stay updated with relevant industry testing standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM, etc.).
• Assist in preparing samples and documentation for third-party lab testing (e.g., SGS, Intertek, BV).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Fabric Testing, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in a textile testing laboratory, preferably in home textiles.
• Hands-on experience with testing machines (e.g., Martindale, Crock meter, Tensile tester, GSM cutter, etc.).
• Strong understanding of textile standards and testing protocols.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
