Lab incharge

Job Summary:

The Lab Incharge will oversee all laboratory operations related to mechanical and chemical testing of fasteners. This role ensures compliance with industry standards (ASTM, ISO, DIN), maintains testing accuracy, and supports production and quality teams by providing reliable test data and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Testing:

• Supervise/condut different hardness and torque testing of fasteners.


• Operate and calibrate testing equipment (e.g., Different hardness testers, torque wrenches).


• Analyze mechanical properties and ensure conformity to specifications.

Chemical Testing:

• Conduct chemical composition analysis using spectrometer.


• Conduct neutral salt spary test using salt spray chamber


• Ensure proper sample preparation and handling.


• Maintain chemical inventory and safety compliance.

Lab Management:

• Lead a team of lab technicians and assign daily tasks.


• Maintain lab documentation, test records, and calibration logs.


• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and other relevant standards.


• Prepare and review test reports and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).

Quality & Compliance:

• Support internal and external audits.


• Develop and update SOPs and testing protocols.


• Investigate non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Chemistry/Physics.


• 5+ years of experience in a testing lab, preferably in the fastener or metal industry.


• Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, DIN standards.


• Hands-on experience with mechanical and chemical testing equipment.


• Excellent documentation and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Leadership and team management.


• Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).


• Certification in ISO 17025 or NABL is a plus.
