Lab Assistant

Job Summary

The Lab Assistant provides technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory activities. The role involves preparing laboratory materials, assisting with experiments and tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory equipment, specimens, and materials for experiments, practical sessions, or testing.
• Assist laboratory staff, researchers, or instructors during experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and storage areas.
• Operate basic laboratory instruments and equipment under supervision.
• Record observations, data, and results accurately in logs or databases.
• Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, samples, and waste according to safety guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering laboratory supplies and reagents.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or irregularities to the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum Qualification graduation
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under supervision.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments and chemical handling.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
