Lab Analyst (1 Yrs)

JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Lab Analyst with 1–3 years of experience to perform analytical testing on fuel oils, lube oils, and petroleum-based products. The role requires hands-on experience in oil testing methodologies, adherence to safety and quality protocols, and a commitment to accurate reporting and analysis. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Sample Analysis: · Perform routine and complex testing of fuel / Lube oil samples using various analytical techniques and equipment (e.g., spectrometry, chromatography). · Prepare and analyze samples for parameters such as sulfur content, viscosity, flash point, and other relevant properties. Equipment Operation and Maintenance: · Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation. · Calibrate and validate instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Data Management: · Record and interpret test results accurately, maintaining detailed documentation of procedures and findings. · Generate and review analytical reports, ensuring data integrity and compliance with quality standards. Quality Assurance: · Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols. · Participate in internal and external audits, and assist in the implementation of corrective actions as needed . Safety and Compliance: · Follow laboratory safety protocols and ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials. · Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry standards related to fuel oil testing. Collaboration and Communication: · Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve issues and improve processes. · Communicate test results and technical information clearly to stakeholders and management. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: BSc, MSc, B.Tech in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Petrochemical, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on fuel oil or similar petrochemical analysis. Skills: · Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation specific to fuel/lube oil testing. · Solid understanding of analytical chemistry and fuel/lube oil properties and problem-solving skills. · Attention to detail and accuracy in test results and documentation. · Good knowledge of safety practices and hazardous material handling . Preferred Background : Experience in a petroleum refinery , oil blending plant, or testing laboratory. Knowledge of fuel adulteration detection , used oil analysis , or additive compatibility is a plus. Exposure to QA/QC procedures in a certified (ISO 17025/ISO 9001) laboratory environment.
