Job Description

As an experienced L3 Support Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for handling escalations from L1/L2 teams, performing root cause analysis, and resolving complex production issues. You will debug Java applications in production and staging environments, including applications built on Spring, REST APIs, and microservices. Collaboration with development teams to provide permanent fixes and suggest code-level improvements will be a key part of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Handle escalations, perform root cause analysis, and resolve complex production issues - Debug Java applications in production and staging environments - Collaborate with development teams for permanent fixes and code-level improvements - Perform advanced SQL query analysis, indexing, and query optimization - Diagnose DB performance issues, deadlocks, replication errors, and data integrity concerns - Manage CI/CD pipelines for deploying hotfixes and releases - Apply security best practices in application and infrastructure support - Automate monitoring, alerts, and log analysis for applications - Ensure SLAs are met by monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents - Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base for recurring issues Required Skills & Experience: Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of Java / J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs debugging - Hands-on experience with SQL / Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL query tuning & troubleshooting - Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps - Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and exposure to cloud platforms and container orchestration - Familiarity with monitoring & logging tools and leveraging AI technologies Soft Skills: - Strong problem-solving & debugging skills - Ability to work under pressure during production incidents - Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 5+ years of L2/L3 Application Support experience in enterprise environments - Certifications in Java, Cloud (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, or DevOps are a plus If you are a person with a disability and need a reasonable accommodation to use our search tools and/or apply for a career opportunity review Accessibility at Citi.,
