Job Description

As an Entry Level Kitchen Manager at Marriott International, your main focus will be on successfully achieving daily objectives in the kitchen. You will assist in leading the kitchen staff and personally contribute to all kitchen areas, including food production, purchasing, and kitchen sanitation. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring both guest and employee satisfaction while staying within the operating budget. Your responsibilities will include: - Maintaining food handling and sanitation standards. - Performing culinary duties during peak hours. - Supervising production and preparation of culinary items. - Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in work areas. - Coordinating with other departments for service and event timing. - Upholding loss prevention policies. - Striving towards improved service performance. - Communicating areas needing attention to staff and ensuring follow-through. - Leading shifts, preparing food items, and fulfilling requests as required. - Cooking various types of foods regularly or for special occasions. - Supervising and coordinating activities of kitchen staff. - Checking the quality of raw and cooked food products. - Assisting in food presentation and creating decorative displays. You will also be responsible for: - Supervising daily shift operations. - Ensuring employees have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms. - Managing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives. - Ensuring completion of assigned duties. - Participating in employee performance appraisals and providing feedback. - Addressing employee questions and concerns. - Communicating performance expectations and participating in recognition programs. - Conducting training sessions when required. - Monitoring employee progress towards meeting performance goals. In addition, you will: - Participate in department meetings and align with departmental goals. - Support new menus, concepts, and promotions for restaurant outlets and banquets. - Set a positive example for guest relations and handle guest problems and complaints. - Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service. - Report equipment malfunctions and manage inventories within budget. - Attend and actively participate in all relevant meetings.
