This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Junior 2nd Line Support Engineer - Remote job (Shifts: including nights & weekends) in India.
We are seeking a motivated Junior 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a fully remote, globally distributed support team. In this role, you will provide technical support on issues beyond the first line, investigate and resolve customer problems, and help build automation and documentation to improve self-service and internal workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career IT professionals who want hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will work on rotational shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage, collaborating closely with peers, developers, and other support teams. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly communicative, and passionate about growing technical expertise while improving processes and workflows.
Accountabilities:
- Work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 technical support
- Resolve technical issues beyond the 1st line while handling problems too simple for the development team
- Investigate, assess, prioritize, and document issues for further escalation or automation
- Create automation scripts, SQL queries, and support tools to reduce manual work
- Maintain technical ownership of internal admin control panels
- Document solutions, workarounds, and processes in knowledge bases and Confluence
- Educate 1st line colleagues on solvable issues and improve overall support workflow
- Liaise between 1st line support and development teams to ensure accurate issue reporting and communication
- Monitor and process failed RATs (Renewal As Transfer) and other recurring technical issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Advanced written and spoken English
- Basic knowledge of DNS, Linux, MySQL, mail systems, scripting, and log analysis
- Linux certification (e.g., RedHat, Linux Foundation) is a plus
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
- Customer-focused, approachable, and empathetic, with a proactive, action-oriented mindset
