Job Description

As a Jr. Process Chemist, your role involves following established procedures and guidelines to operate process units, load/unload storage tanks, and manufacture chemical products. Your key responsibilities include: - Safely operate and work with industrial equipment using the proper PPE and safety procedures. - Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions, including manual and DCS operation. - Perform loading, unloading, and sampling of material containers (tank cars/trucks, drums) in the plant whenever required. - Track and record process information and production data. - Enter production data in ERP SAP system. - Report non-conformance/deviations to shift in charge and participate in troubleshooting equipment and processes to identify the root cause. - Provide suggestions for process improvement. - Coordinate with QAL and Maintenance functions. - Maintain equipment in good condition by ensuring cleanliness and attending to minor maintenance jobs like leaks, oil top-up, hose connection, etc. - Clean and prepare equipment for maintenance as required, issue work memos, and release equipment safely for maintenance, concluding the job with successful trials. - Monitor jobs mentioned in work permits issued in the unit. - Ensure good housekeeping in the plant and surroundings. - Participate in plant emergency response team (Rescue Squad) activities. - Engage in safety audits, Hazop studies, and preparing JSA. - Fulfill any additional duties as assigned. Qualifications required for this role include: - Diploma in Chemical Engineering with a good academic background. - 1 to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry, preferably from a specialty chemical company. - Understanding of hazardous materials and safety procedures (MSDS, JSAs, etc.). - Good interpersonal communication skills (verbal/written). - Ability to plan tasks, work independently, and display individual initiative. - Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. - Basic computer skills. - Ability to identify process improvements and act on them. Desirable qualifications and competencies: - Awareness about 5S, basic understanding of P&IDs, preventive maintenance programs, and emergency handling. - Exposure to plant operations, working with hazardous chemicals, DCS, basic instruments, mechanical equipment, safety, and environmental protection in the process industry. In this role, your job-specific competencies will include a focus on customer, execution, open communication, collaboration, result orientation, and adaptability.,
