The economic value of provisioning reading glasses to all Indians struggling with uncorrected presbyopia is USD 16 billion, and with 85% of people without access to reading glasses being residents of rural India, it amplifies the potential of the intervention to create a thriving rural livelihood ecosystem. Job Summary: A Lift Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of lifts (elevators), escalators, and other vertical transportation systems. The technician ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation. Conduct safety checks and diagnose potential faults in lift systems. Lubricate and adjust lift components to reduce wear and tear. Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic lift components. Replace defective parts, such as cables, motors, or control systems. Respond to emergency call-outs and breakdowns in a timely manner. Requirements & Qualifications: Education: Diploma, ITI certification, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Lift Engineering. Experience: 1-5 years of experience in maintenance, or servicing. Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with safety standards and industry regulations.
