You will also be involved in cutting, grinding, or cleaning metal pieces to prepare them for welding. Aligning and clamping work pieces in preparation for welding will be part of your duties. Operating hand tools, grinders, and other power tools as directed is another aspect of the job. Additionally, you will assist in fitting and assembling metal components while following safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear. Inspecting and cleaning tools, welding equipment, and accessories after use will also be a part of your responsibilities. Finally, you will need to inspect welds for accuracy and notify welders of any issues. To excel in this role, you should have familiarity with welding tools, equipment, and materials. Basic knowledge of welding techniques and processes will be beneficial. The ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions is essential. Physical strength and stamina are required for lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods. Effective communication and teamwork skills are also necessary for success.
