Job Summary:

The Jewellery Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by providing expert advice, promoting jewellery products, and ensuring high standards of presentation and service. The role requires excellent communication, product knowledge, and sales skills to meet individual and store sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service & Sales

• Greet and assist customers in a professional, friendly manner.
• Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable jewellery pieces.
• Demonstrate product features, materials, and craftsmanship to clients.
• Achieve and exceed personal and store sales targets.
• Process transactions accurately and handle cash/card payments.

2. Product Knowledge & Merchandising

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of all jewellery collections, including gemstones, metals, and design trends.
• Ensure all displays are neat, attractive, and comply with brand guidelines.
• Report any discrepancies in stock or damaged items to management.
• Assist in stock control, tagging, pricing, and inventory checks.

3. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
• Collect and update customer contact information for marketing purposes.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

4. Store Operations

• Ensure store cleanliness and security at all times.
• Follow company procedures for opening and closing the store.
• Assist with packaging and gift wrapping of jewellery items.
• Stay informed about promotions, new arrivals, and store events.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in jewellery, watches, or luxury goods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sales orientation with a customer-first attitude.
• Knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, and jewellery design (preferred).
• Well-groomed, presentable, and professional appearance.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple customers simultaneously.
• Basic computer literacy (POS systems, email, inventory software).

Education & Experience:

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Diploma or Certificate in Retail, Marketing, or Jewellery Studies.
• 1–3 years of experience in retail or luxury sales is an advantage.

Working Conditions:
