Java Developer (3–6 Years)

We are hiring a Java Developer (3–6 Years) to work on a large-scale Mainframe to Java migration and modernization program for a well-established US financial services client. The role involves re-engineering legacy Mainframe applications into modern Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based systems, handling high-volume transactional data in a regulated BFSI environment.

Experience Required

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer
• Exposure to legacy system migration or enterprise application modernization projects is a strong plus

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in Mainframe modernization and legacy application migration
• Analyze existing system logic and implement it using Java 8+/Java 11 and Spring Boot
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
• Work on microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Support data migration, transformation, and reconciliation
• Write clean, maintainable, and unit-tested code
• Collaborate with Mainframe, Data, QA, and DevOps teams
• Follow Agile / Scrum development practices
• Work with US-based client stakeholders

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Java 8 / Java 11)
• Good experience with Spring Framework & Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience in REST API development
• Understanding of Microservices Architecture
• Working knowledge of Hibernate / JPA
• Strong experience with RDBMS, especially DB2 (Oracle / PostgreSQL acceptable)
• Good knowledge of SQL and data modeling
• Familiarity with Maven / Gradle
• Basic exposure to CI/CD pipelines

NoSQL & Data Skills

• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially Apache Cassandra
• Understanding of Cassandra data modeling concepts
• Exposure to high-volume data processing
• Experience or understanding of data migration from legacy or RDBMS systems

Good to Have Skills

• Basic understanding of Mainframe concepts (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, batch processing)
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
• Banking / Financial Services domain experience
• Knowledge of performance tuning and scalability

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to learn and work on legacy-to-modern transformations
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a global delivery environment
