IT Support Engineer

As an IT Hardware and Networking Engineer at NEW HORIZON GROUP OF SCHOOL, your primary responsibility will be to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize the hardware and network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in setting up IT hardware, configuring networks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless operations across various systems and software. **Key Responsibilities:** - Network Setup & Management: Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and internet connections. Ensure network security and smooth connectivity. - Hardware Installation & Maintenance: Oversee the installation and upkeep of computer systems, printers, servers, and related hardware. Conduct regular upgrades and repairs. - Troubleshooting: Provide remote and on-site support for hardware and network issues, minimizing downtime. - System Backups & Data Security: Regularly back up critical data and enforce strong security protocols. Implement firewalls and antivirus solutions for data protection. - Support for End-Users: Offer technical assistance to school staff, teachers, and students regarding hardware, software, and networking problems. - Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, configurations, licenses, and network setups. Generate reports on system performance and concerns. - Collaboration: Coordinate with the IT team and external vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, or issue resolution. - Training: Conduct basic training sessions for staff and students on IT systems and software usage for resource optimization. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT hardware and networking. - Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), routers, switches, and firewalls. - Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software (Windows, macOS, Linux). - Familiarity with network security practices like VPN, antivirus, and firewall management. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
