It Executive

The purpose of the role is to provide high quality technical support of the systems infrastructure that is used by staff and pupils across the trust. The IT Systems Engineer will work proactively and reactively to maintain reliable technical services working hands-on to provide appropriate solutions.

This role includes Systems responsibility to ensure the effective delivery of an outstanding and robust IT Service across the Trust, As a Systems Engineer you will ensure that all services are secure, effective, reliable, fit for purpose and can adapt to changing circumstances. All staff are required to work flexibly and in a way that encourages a positive work environment that is solution focused and proactive for all.

Key Points: -

• Provide first-level technical support to all center locations for hardware and software issues.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, printer problems, and system malfunctions.
• Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining computers, servers, and network devices.
• Support managing and maintaining IT assets, including software licenses and hardware inventory.
• Help monitor and maintain system performance and security.
• Support in administering user accounts and permissions across various systems and platforms
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
• knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common software applications.
• Knowledge of IT systems, networks, and protocols.
• Support network security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and data protection.
• Provide technical assistance to employees regarding hardware and software issues.
• knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
• Previous internship or experience in IT support or networking.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin.
• Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
• Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
• Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes.
• Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Define network policies and procedures
