Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Assistant to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks. The ideal candidate will assist users with troubleshooting issues, maintaining systems, and supporting various IT functions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide first-level support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
· Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
· Respond to service requests and incidents via ticketing systems, phone, email, or in person.
· Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
· Assist in managing user accounts, email configurations, and system access permissions.
· Maintain inventory of IT equipment and perform routine asset audits.
· Assist in setting up and maintaining LAN/WAN networks and internet connectivity.
· Perform system updates, patches, and backups as directed.
· Support video conferencing, VoIP phones, and remote access technologies.
· Document technical issues and solutions for knowledge base/reference.
· Ensure data security and adhere to IT policies and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proven experience in IT support or technical assistance (1–2 years preferred).
· Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
· Experience with IT support tools, helpdesk software, and ticketing systems.
· Basic knowledge of Active Directory, printers, antivirus, and backup solutions.
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Customer-service oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):
· CompTIA A+
· Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
· ITIL Foundation
· Cisco CCNA (basic knowledge)
Working Conditions:
· May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance.
· On-site support with possible remote assistance responsibilities.
· Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment when necessary.
