IoT Telematics Engineer

IoT & Telematics Engineer (2-4 years of experience)

Location- Chennai and Vijayawada

Responsibilities

• Integrate GPS trackers, OBD-II/telematics devices, and IoT sensors

• Build real-time data ingestion pipelines using Kafka, MQTT, or WebSockets.

• Develop and manage data models for telemetry in database.

• Implement vehicle and driver monitoring features (driver behavior, route deviations, idle time).

• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers for predictive maintenance, route optimization, and anomaly detection.

• Work with BI/Data Engineers to feed IoT data into dashboards and reports (Grafana, Superset, Power BI).

• Ensure secure communication protocols (TLS, VPN, device auth) for IoT devices.

• Deploy IoT integrations on AWS IoT Core / Azure IoT Hub or open-source brokers (EMQX, Mosquitto).

• Support real-time alerts (accident detection, route deviation, fuel theft) via SNS, Gupshup, or WhatsApp

API.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of IoT protocols: MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, WebSockets.

• Hands-on with GPS/telematics devices, OBD-II, CAN bus integration.

• Backend experience in Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, or Python for IoT data ingestion services.

• Event-driven systems: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS IoT Core.

• Data modeling for time-series telemetry (PostgreSQL + TimescaleDB, OpenSearch, InfluxDB).

• Experience with OpenSearch Maps / Grafana for location & vehicle visualization.

• Security practices for IoT (device identity, TLS encryption, SIM/APN management).

• Knowledge of cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, GCP IoT Core).

Good to Have

• Familiarity with digital twin modeling for assets.

• AI/ML integration experience for driver scoring, fuel optimization, predictive maintenance.

• Edge computing frameworks (AWS Greengrass, KubeEdge).

• Containerized IoT microservices on Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
