Salary: ??20-30 LPA About Medblocks Medblocks is building a developer-focused ?stack for healthcare? that makes it possible for anyone to build applications that integrate directly with clinical workflows without rebuilding expensive Electronic Medical Records systems We believe code has the potential to save more lives than doctors can by themselves, Founded by doctors-turned-programmers, our team leverages open, vendor-neutral standards like openEHR, FHIR, SMART, and SNOMED CT to create a platform that makes healthcare data accessible, interoperable, and useful, Our Culture Were a remote-first team that values deep work, clear communication, and continuous learning Were building technology that matters, and were looking for individuals who want their code to make a difference in healthcare, Role Overview We are seeking an experienced iOS Developer at Medblocks to build an AI assistant that will fundamentally change how doctors interact with clinical data and patient information This role offers complete ownership over our mobile AI platform, where you'll design and implement the foundation that powers intelligent healthcare workflows directly in clinicians' hands You'll have full autonomy to make critical technical decisions about AI architecture, mobile performance, security, and user experience that will scale with us for years to come, Key responsibilities include: Architecting and implementing sophisticated iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI that handle real-time AI inference with sub-second response times Building and optimizing Large Language Model implementations for on-device inference, including model quantization, memory management, and context engineering Designing AI-driven workflows that integrate seamlessly with healthcare protocols using emerging standards like Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent-to-agent communication (A2A, ACP) Implementing advanced iOS frameworks including AVFoundation for real-time audio processing, Core ML for machine learning, Combine for reactive programming, and HealthKit for clinical data integration Creating robust offline-first architectures that maintain AI functionality even in low-connectivity clinical environments Building secure, HIPAA-compliant data handling systems with end-to-end encryption and advanced access controls Establishing mobile CI/CD practices, including automated testing frameworks, performance benchmarking, and zero-downtime deployment strategies Leveraging AI-assisted development tools extensively to accelerate development cycles and maintain high code quality Designing data synchronization patterns that map between local AI models and cloud-based healthcare systems Documenting complex AI workflows and system architectures Must have: 3+ years of production iOS development experience, with demonstrated experience in AI/ML integration Proven experience building complex iOS applications that have scaled in production with real users Deep iOS expertise, including: Advanced Swift programming and iOS SDK mastery SwiftUI and declarative UI patterns Core ML for on-device machine learning Combine framework for reactive programming AVFoundation for real-time media processing Performance profiling and memory optimization Experience with Large Language Models beyond API calls, including local inference, prompt engineering, and model optimization Extensive hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc,) and proven ability to leverage them for 2-3x productivity gains Strong computer science fundamentals, including: Algorithm design and complexity analysis Data structures and system architecture Concurrent programming and async patterns Security principles and cryptography Experience with mobile DevOps, including: iOS deployment pipelines and TestFlight automation Fastlane and CI/CD implementation App Store optimization and release management Track record of working in high-autonomy environments where you owned technical decisions from conception to production What This Role Is Not This is not a junior position we need someone who can architect AI systems independently This is not a traditional mobile app role focused on CRUD operations you'll be building cutting-edge AI workflows This is not a pure frontend role you'll be working on complex AI inference and system integration Benefits Flexible, remote-first work environment Complete autonomy to design and build our AI assistant from the ground up Direct collaboration with founders on technical strategy Transparent company financials and metrics Regular opportunities to speak at conferences and write technical content about AI in healthcare Travel opportunities for team meet-ups and conferences Liberal leave policy with no micromanagement The chance to build AI-powered healthcare tools from first principles
