Job Roles & Responsibilities

As an iOS Engineer at Careem Grocery, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality iOS applications that reach millions of users. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design user-friendly mobile experiences, implement new features, optimize performance, and integrate emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence. You will be a key contributor to the iOS development team, shaping the mobile experience in Careem's super app and enabling seamless FinTech, Social Media, and CleanTech interactions.

About the role

We are seeking a talented iOS Engineer to join our Bengaluru engineering team. You will develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. Your work will directly impact user experience and the growth of Careem’s mobile platforms, including grocery, FinTech, and social engagement applications.

Ideal candidate profile

Develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift for iOS and macOS platforms.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to design intuitive, user-friendly mobile experiences.

Implement new features and optimize existing code for high performance, stability, and reliability.

Address technical challenges and ensure compatibility with AI-driven solutions.

Continuously improve application performance and reliability for Careem’s super app.

Test, troubleshoot, and debug iOS applications to meet quality standards.

Stay updated on iOS trends, tools, and best practices to enhance app functionality.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the iOS engineering team and promote best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong experience with Swift for iOS development and familiarity with macOS app development.

Proven track record of building and shipping iOS applications with high performance and stability.

Experience integrating FinTech solutions, Social Media features, or AI functionality.

Solid understanding of iOS SDK, UI/UX design principles, and best practices.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development in fast-paced environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse team.
