Intermediate Technical Writer (6 Months Contract - Remote)

Technical writers work with internal and external organizations to develop, plan, and write/edit internal and external technical documentation. Work requires use of the appropriate editorial/logical methodologies and process management. Writers must ensure that documentation is written in a manner that customers with limited to highly proficient technical product knowledge can understand and use the material.

Responsibilities:

• Creates and maintains structured technical content that maximizes comprehension and ease of use and eliminates ambiguity without the loss of precision.
• Develops skills and knowledge on the client domain, technologies, and products.
• Develops a good understanding of tools, corporate standards, procedures, and policies.
• Ensures that the technical content complies with corporate and Technical Documentation writing standards.
• Works with the Technical documentation team lead to improve and implement processes and best practices.
• Leads and assists documentation projects, including planning, tracking, and reporting on those projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a similar field.

• 3+ years of experience

  creating user-focused documentation for software products.
• Familiarity with topic-based authoring.
• Great work ethic and strong communication skills - written and verbal. Communication is key because you’ll be teaming up with engineers & product managers to gather the technical nitty-gritty for your documentation.
• Hands-on experience in the

  cybersecurity domain

  . This is a must-have.
• Hands-on experience using

  WordPress or similar CMSs

  like Joomla or Drupal to create and manage documentation. This is a must-have.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams.
• Quick in learning learn new tools and processes, thriving in fast-paced environments.
• A knack for understanding complex technologies, with

  bonus points if you’re familiar with cloud security (SaaS) concepts

  .
• Comfortable with working on both

  MAC

  and

  Windows PCs

  .

• Bonus points if you’ve dabbled in HTML.
