INTERIOR DESIGN HEAD

Job Summary

The Head Interior Design is responsible for leading all interior design and interior project management activities across residential and commercial projects. The role ensures design excellence, effective project planning, timely execution, cost control, bill settlements, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and clients while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership & Planning

  • Lead and manage the interior design team across multiple projects.
  • Develop interior design concepts, layouts, specifications, and design themes.
  • Review and approve drawings, 3D views, BOQs, and material specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory norms, safety standards, and company guidelines.

2. Project Management & Execution

  • Prepare detailed

    project schedules

    , work programs, and

    timeline plans

    for interior works.
  • Set milestones and monitor progress to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil, MEP, and site teams for seamless execution.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to approved designs.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and cost overruns and take corrective action.

3. Billing, Cost Control & Settlements

  • Review, certify, and approve

    contractor and vendor bills

    related to interior works.
  • Ensure timely

    bill clearances, settlements, and payment coordination

    with the finance/accounts team.
  • Verify quantities, measurements, and work completion before bill approval.
  • Monitor budgets and control costs to avoid deviations.

4. Client Coordination

  • Interact with clients to understand requirements and present design proposals.
  • Manage design approvals, variations, and change requests.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through transparent communication and timely delivery.

5. Vendor & Material Management

  • Finalize interior contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Approve materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Ensure timely material procurement and delivery as per project schedules.

6. Team Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and manage interior designers, site coordinators, and execution teams.
  • Allocate responsibilities, set targets, and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular review meetings and performance evaluations.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed project documentation including drawings, approvals, schedules, and bills.
  • Submit periodic progress, cost, and status reports to management.
  • Support project handover and final closure documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 8–12 years

    of relevant experience in interior design and project execution within construction/real estate.
  • Strong exposure to

    interior project management, billing, and contractor coordination

    .

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project planning and scheduling skills.
  • Expertise in billing, measurement verification, and vendor settlements.
  • Leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, or equivalent tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
