Job Description

About the Role:

Information Assurance Architect

Key Responsibilities:

Information Assurance Strategy & Architecture

Develop and maintain the organizations
information assurance architecture and roadmap
aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Define
security reference architectures
, frameworks, and design patterns that embed IA principles into all technology solutions.
Integrate
security controls
into enterprise, cloud, and application architectures in alignment with frameworks such as
NIST RMF, ISO 27001, DoD 8500, or CIS Controls
.
Collaborate with system architects and engineers to design
secure system configurations
and assess new technologies for IA compliance.
Lead
threat modeling and risk assessments
during system design and implementation phases.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)

Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support
security accreditation and certification
processes.
Ensure compliance with
government, industry, and organizational IA requirements
(e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS).
Perform
security control assessments (SCAs)
and develop
System Security Plans (SSPs)
,
POA&Ms
, and other compliance documentation.
Partner with audit and compliance teams to support external assessments and certification initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as
CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CAP, or GIAC Security Architecture (GDSA)
.
Experience in
federal information assurance
programs (e.g., DoD RMF, DIACAP, JSIG).
Knowledge of
DevSecOps
practices and integration of security in CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with
Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
principles and implementation.
