The Industry Advisor (IA) plays a critical role supporting our Industry business to grow sales pipeline and engage with our customers to secure revenue. The Industry Advisor provides industry perspective, strategic solution advice, and thought leadership to drive pipeline growth and quality through demand generation strategies, support sales cycles and customer co-innovation programs, and contribute to building SAP s leadership position in the Retail industry. Industry Advisor Retail Wholesale is a senior, customer-facing role that brings deep industry expertise to shape executive conversations, influence digital transformation agendas, and accelerate value realization through SAP and cloud-based solutions.
This role acts as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, helping retail and wholesale organizations from across APAC reimagine business models, modernize core processes, and unlock growth through intelligent, cloud-enabled transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Industry Leadership Thought Leadership
- Serve as a recognized expert in Retail and Wholesale industries, including omnichannel retail, merchandising, supply chain, logistics, and customer experience.
- Develop compelling industry Points of View (PoVs) aligned to SAP s Intelligent Enterprise and cloud strategy.
- Contribute to industry thought leadership through executive presentations, whitepapers, blogs, and analyst interactions.
Executive Advisory Customer Engagement
- Lead C-suite and senior executive engagements focused on business transformation, operating model redesign, and value creation.
- Advise customers on industry challenges such as margin pressure, inventory optimization, omnichannel execution, sustainability, and resilience.
- Shape end-to-end transformation roadmaps leveraging SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Industry Cloud, and cloud hyperscalers.
Go-to-Market Deal Influence
- Partner with sales, pre-sales, and solution teams to influence pipeline creation and strategic deal shaping.
- Support large, complex pursuits by articulating business value, industry differentiation, and transformation outcomes.
- Participate in executive workshops, customer events, and industry forums.
Solution Transformation Alignment
- Translate industry challenges into business requirements and SAP-centric solution concepts.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure industry relevance and adoption.
- Guide customers on change management, adoption, and business transformation not just technology deployment.
What you bring:
- 15+ years professional experience in large IT or Technology Consulting organizations (preferably multi-country / culture)
- Proven executive presence and ability to influence senior business leaders
- Strong 8+ years expertise in domain in Retail and/or Wholesale industries
- Strong understanding of end-to-end retail and wholesale processes (merchandising, supply chain, store ops, pricing, CX)
- Experience with SAP solutions (S/4HANA, BTP, Industry Cloud, or related platforms) and cloud-based transformations
- Experience with managing and building strategic partnerships
- Strong storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Customer facing experience and fluency in English, with knowledge of other languages (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin) as an asset
- Ability to work in dynamic and high-pressure environments across multiple cultures
- Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred
