Job Description

An Indian Sr Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a designated Indian cuisine section in a kitchen, including cooking and preparing dishes, managing kitchen staff, developing menus, controlling inventory, and ensuring food safety and quality. The role requires a strong knowledge of Indian culinary techniques, experience in kitchen management, and the ability to work under pressure to maintain high standards for food and service.
Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development: Create and refine authentic Indian dishes, develop seasonal specialties, and contribute to menu planning, considering restaurant concepts and customer preferences.
  • Food Preparation & Quality: Prepare a wide range of Indian dishes using both traditional and modern cooking techniques, ensuring consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, manage kitchen staff, and provide training and mentorship to junior chefs and assistants.
  • Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor food stock, ensure the availability of high-quality ingredients, order supplies, and maintain proper storage to prevent spoilage.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety within the kitchen area.
  • Staff Supervision: Delegate tasks to kitchen staff, supervise their work, and ensure smooth workflow and teamwork.
  • Guest Service: Maintain excellent guest relations, and be able to communicate effectively with customers regarding menu items and dietary needs.

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Proven experience as an Indian Chef or in a similar role within a reputable kitchen.
  • Culinary Knowledge: In-depth understanding of traditional and contemporary Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and regional variations.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide kitchen staff.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under high-pressure conditions
  • Food Safety: Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,651.90 - ₹25,629.08 per month
