In-House Counsel

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including
• Supply and service contracts
• Lease deeds and land acquisition documents
• Transportation and logistics contracts
• Provide legal support for commercial transactions across procurement, operations, and infrastructure development.
• Advise on regulatory issues related to electricity, environmental compliance, labour laws, and industrial safety.
• Handle commercial litigation and arbitration involving vendors, contractors, logistics providers, and property disputes.
• Liaise with external counsel for civil, regulatory, and arbitration matters.
• Maintain legal documentation, case records, and contract repositories.

Qualifications & Experience:

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed institution.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the cement, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven experience in handling commercial litigation, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Strong understanding of commercial, labour/industrial laws, property documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Preferred Attributes:

• Prior in-house legal experience in the cement, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with land acquisition, lease documentation, and industrial regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in managing vendor and contractor disputes and coordinating with external counsel.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and finance.
