Imports Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and execute import strategies to source fresh produce, particularly apples, from international markets, ensuring alignment with AAFLs quality standards and business objectives.
• Manage end-to-end import operations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, shipping logistics, and customs clearance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, shipping agents, and customs officials to ensure timely and cost-effective imports.
• Monitor global market trends, shipping routes, and pricing dynamics to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with the cold chain infrastructure team to ensure imported produce is seamlessly integrated into AAFLs Controlled Atmosphere storage facilities.
• Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and import compliance requirements.
• Analyze import data and generate actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Work closely with the Marketing & Sales team to align import schedules with distribution network demands and seasonal market trends.
• Leverage technology and analytics tools to optimize import operations and enhance decision-making processes.
• Support AAFLs strategic initiatives to expand its portfolio by identifying potential import opportunities for other fruits and vegetable

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Fresher / 02 years of experience in import/export operations, international logistics, or supply chain management.
• Exposure to fresh produce supply chains and cold chain logistics is highly desirable.

• Effective communication and presentation skills are critical for an Imports Manager to liaise with international suppliers, shipping agents, and internal stakeholders. 2. Understanding of Fresh Food Supply Chain and Imports

• A deep understanding of the fresh food supply chain, including imports, clearance processes, and international market dynamics, is essential. This knowledge ensures that the Imports Manager can efficiently manage the procurement and logistics of fresh produce, aligning with Adani Agri Fresh’s commitment to delivering high-quality products to consumers. Familiarity with shipping routes and C&F operations is also crucial to optimize costs and timelines.

3. Analytical and Negotiation Skills

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills are indispensable for evaluating supplier proposals, optimizing procurement costs, and ensuring favorable terms in international trade agreements. These skills directly impact the company’s profitability and operational efficiency.
