Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Technician Company Name: Galaxy Hospital Job Summary: An Operation Theatre (OT) Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room, arranging surgical instruments and equipment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring the maintenance of a sterile environment in the operation theatre. The OT Technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and the smooth functioning of surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain operation theatre before, during, and after surgery. Set up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment. Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and in working condition. Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during surgeries. Handle surgical instruments and pass them to the surgeon during the procedure. Monitor and maintain OT equipment (e.g., lights, suction machines, cautery, etc.). Follow infection control protocols and maintain aseptic conditions. Properly dispose of bio-medical waste as per hospital guidelines. Transport patients to and from the OT with care. Maintain accurate records of procedures, sterilization logs, and inventory. Support post-operative cleaning and preparation for the next surgery. Qualifications & Requirements: Diploma or Certificate in OT Technology or relevant field. 1-3 years of experience in a similar role (preferred, but freshers can apply). Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization procedures. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and emergencies. Work Environment: Exposure to surgical and medical environments. Shift-based duties, including on-call responsibilities. Standing for long periods during surgeries.
