Hydrographic Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct single-beam hydrographic surveys to monitor dredging progress and verify depth data.
• Perform pre-dredge and post-dredge surveys to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Process and validate raw survey data using appropriate software (e.g. Hypack, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Maintain survey equipment, including single-beam echo sounders, DGPS units, and related peripherals.
• Prepare accurate survey charts, reports, and volume calculations for internal project teams.
• Work closely with the project engineers, dredge operators, and site managers to support operations.
• Ensure data quality, calibration accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols on-site.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in hydrographic surveying (preferably in dredging or marine construction).
• Hands-on experience with single-beam survey systems (knowledge of multibeam is a plus).
• Proficiency in survey data processing and mapping software (Hypack, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Strong understanding of tidal corrections, positioning systems, and sound velocity calibration.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and collaborate effectively with dredge crews.
