Responsibilities: The selected candidate is expected to carry out following activities: Concept Design of Ships - Prepare general arrangement for various types of vessels, perform basic naval architectural calculations of vessel sizing, lines plan development, resistance & powering, bollard pull calculations, propeller design, midship section, steel MTO and lightship weight estimation. Preparation of Statutory Plans including Fire Control Plan, Life Saving Appliances Plan, Crew Accommodation Plan, Towing Plan, GMDSS Plan, Tonnage Computation Plan etc. The candidate is also expected to assist in Basic Design of Ships- Involve in preparation of basic structural drawings and calculations. Prepare intact stability booklet for vessels, including stability calculations. Qualification: BE / B. Tech in Naval Architecture Desired profile of the candidate: Ideal candidate has up to 2-4 years experience working for a design consultancy in the Basic Design dept, involved in concept/basic design of various types of vessels. Exposure to different types of commercial vessels and/or innovative design concepts advantageous.
Job Description / Responsibilities Team management Lead / Manage the team of 5 to 10 Naval Architects/Engineers. Building the capability of the team by carrying regular training and supporting the recruitment process. Act as technical lead on projects with responsibility of deliver to organization and project quality deliver requirements. Interact with Central organization to define the workload priorities and distribute the work to the local team accordingly. Supervise and guide graduate engineers Naval Architects. Knowledge of any following software is preferred NAPA/FORAN/Maxsurf Technical Responsibilities Derive compartmentation of vessel for integrity and stability of vessel Carry out naval architectural calculations and prepare intact, damage stability booklets for various vessels from newbuilding and conversion projects Must have experience with carrying out Probabilistic Damage Stability Calculations. Estimate lightship weight and do weight control during design development Prepare other statutory documents such as capacity plans, tonnage plan, sounding tables, etc Liaison with class for approval of booklets Provide technical support to develop Loading software and other engineering software development activity as and when required. Provide support to stability team as and when required for review of stability booklet, inclining experiment report. Conduct of inclining experiment. Qualification B.E/B.Tech or MTech in Naval Architecture.
Supervise and coordinate contractors hydrographic survey and equipment. Ensure accurate data collection. Review and validate collected data for completeness and accuracy. Coordinate with dredging contractor to provide real time survey updates. Ensure timely processing of survey data , maps and reports. Maintain proper documentation of survey activities , QAQC checks. Proficiency in hydrographic and geospatial software (HYPACK, Autocad 3D, etc) Qualifications B.Tech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 10 years of experience in hydrographic surveying or related civil/marine infrastructure projects.
