Job Description

HR Roles and Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Identifying hiring needs with department heads
  • Creating job descriptions & posting job ads
  • Screening resumes and shortlisting candidates
  • Conducting interviews & managing assessments
  • Coordinating final selection and offer letters
  • Managing onboarding and orientation of new hires

2. Employee Relations

  • Handling employee grievances and conflict resolution
  • Ensuring a positive workplace culture
  • Facilitating communication between management and employees
  • Conducting exit interviews and analyzing turnover reasons
  • Maintaining disciplinary procedures and ensuring fairness

3. Training & Development

  • Identifying skill gaps and training needs
  • Planning and organizing training programs
  • Supporting career development and leadership training
  • Tracking employee performance and training outcomes

4. Performance Management

  • Designing and managing performance appraisal systems
  • Setting KPIs, goals, and evaluation frameworks
  • Supporting managers with feedback and coaching practices
  • Addressing performance issues and improvement plans

5. Compensation & Benefits

  • Designing salary structures and pay policies
  • Managing payroll coordination (often with finance)
  • Overseeing employee benefits (insurance, bonuses, leave, etc.)
  • Conducting salary benchmarking and market research
  • Ensuring compliance with pay-related laws

6. HR Compliance & Policies

  • Drafting and updating HR policies, employee handbooks
  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Managing audits, documentation, and statutory requirements
  • Maintaining employee records securely

7. HR Strategy & Organizational Development

  • Workforce planning and forecasting manpower needs
  • Supporting change management initiatives
  • Improving processes and organizational structures
  • Enhancing productivity and employee engagement

8. Attendance, Leave, and HR Operations

  • Managing time and attendance systems
  • Handling leave requests and maintaining records
  • Issuing HR letters (experience letters, salary letters, etc.)
  • Maintaining HR systems (HRMS, payroll tools, ATS)

9. Health, Safety & Employee Well-being

  • Implementing workplace safety policies
  • Managing wellness programs and mental health initiatives
  • Ensuring safe working environments

10. Employer Branding

  • Promoting the company as a great place to work
  • Managing careers pages, social media, recruitment drives
  • Driving employee engagement activities
