Job Description

The Plant HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end human resources functions at the 3PL plant servicing a solar customer. This includes talent management, compliance, employee relations, statutory obligations, and strong focus on Industrial Relations (IR) to ensure a harmonious and productive work environment. The role is critical in aligning the workforce with operational goals while maintaining adherence to labor laws and customer-specific HR standards.

1. HR Operations & Administration

  • Oversee all plant-level HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs, attendance, and exit formalities.
  • Maintain and manage employee records, contracts, and HRIS updates.
  • Ensure proper manpower planning and shift management in coordination with operations.

2. Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with contract labor, unions (if applicable), and local authorities.
  • Proactively handle grievances and disciplinary matters in line with company policy and labor laws.
  • Facilitate negotiations and settlements in consultation with the corporate HR and legal team, when required.
  • Represent the company during inspections, audits, or hearings related to labor and compliance.

3. Statutory Compliance & Labor Law

  • Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labor laws (Factories Act, CLRA, ESIC, PF, Minimum Wages, etc.).
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure adherence to legal obligations, including license renewals, wage registers, and muster rolls.
  • Conduct internal audits and prepare for external compliance checks (by client or authorities).

4. Employee Engagement & Welfare

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives aligned with the values of both the company and the solar customer.
  • Address employee concerns, morale issues, and absenteeism.
  • Promote health, safety, and welfare practices across the plant.

5. Talent Management & Training

  • Coordinate with central HR for implementing learning & development programs.
  • Conduct skill assessments and maintain training records as per client and industry requirements.
  • Assist in succession planning for key plant roles.

6. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the HR liaison between the 3PL plant, corporate HR, and the solar customer.
  • Regularly share HR metrics with internal stakeholders and customer teams (attrition, absenteeism, compliance score, etc.).
  • Support client audits and ensure alignment with customers code of conduct and labor standards.

Qualifications:

  • MBA/MSW in HR, IR, or Labor Welfare
  • 610 years of experience in Plant HR, with minimum 3 years in a logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing setup
  • Strong understanding of HR in a 3PL or solar/renewable energy context is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, HRIS tools, and local language
