Job Description

HR Generalist Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage or support full-cycle recruitment (job postings, screening, interviews, offers).
  • Coordinate hiring processes with managers and HR leadership.
  • Conduct new-hire orientations and ensure completion of onboarding paperwork.
  • Maintain job descriptions and assist with workforce planning needs.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and policy guidance.
  • Help address workplace issues and escalate complex concerns to senior HR staff.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive work culture and support engagement initiatives.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS systems.
  • Prepare and update HR reports, dashboards, and documentation.
  • Assist with creating, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures.
  • Support employee offboarding, exit interviews, and documentation.

Benefits & Compensation Support

  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and changes.
  • Work with benefits providers to resolve issues.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring timely and accurate employee data changes.
  • Participate in open enrollment and benefits communication efforts.

Performance Management & Training

  • Support the performance review cycle, tracking evaluations and deadlines.
  • Help managers and employees understand performance tools and processes.
  • Coordinate training sessions, compliance programs, or learning & development activities.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain compliance records, including safety training and certifications.
  • Assist in audits and prepare required compliance reports.
  • Support workplace investigations and documentation.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Assist in planning team-building initiatives, recognition programs, and engagement surveys.
  • Gather feedback and help HR leadership identify opportunities to improve employee experience.
