Human Resources Functions

  • End-to-End Recruitment:

    Oversee all recruitment processes, including faculty, research staff (JRF/SRF/PhD), technical team, and administrative hires.
  • Onboarding & Induction:

    Develop and manage effective onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the institute.
  • HR Policies & Compliance:

    Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in alignment with the institutes objectives. Ensure compliance with employment laws, safety regulations, and institutional requirements.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management:

    Handle all HR functions, including payroll, attendance management, performance appraisals, promotions, and separations.
  • Training & Development:

    Identify training needs, develop training programs for faculty, research staff, and administrative teams to enhance skills and promote continuous learning.
  • Employee Engagement & Welfare:

    Manage employee engagement initiatives, welfare programs, grievance redressal, and conflict management to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Compensation & Benefits Management:

    Ensure the institute’s compensation structure is competitive, fair, and compliant with industry standards for research & academic roles.
  • HR Systems Management:

    Maintain and optimize HRMIS, employee records, and all HR documentation in line with statutory requirements.
  • Recruitment Strategy:

    Work closely with leadership to forecast HR needs, and develop recruitment strategies to meet the growing talent requirements of the institute.
  • Faculty & Researcher Relations:

    Provide HR support for faculty members, researchers, and project staff, managing contracts, project-based roles, and academic staff-related queries.

Administration Functions

  • Office & Campus Management:

    Oversee the daily operations of the campus, managing office supplies, administrative systems, campus infrastructure, and facilities.
  • Vendor & Facility Management:

    Manage relationships with vendors for services such as housekeeping, security, office supplies, lab maintenance, and other facilities.
  • Event Management & Logistics:

    Coordinate internal and external events, seminars, conferences, and workshops, including logistics, venue management, and travel coordination for guests.
  • Compliance & Documentation:

    Ensure compliance with institutional regulations, government norms, and research ethics. Maintain institutional records for audits and inspections.
  • Accommodation & Travel Coordination

  • Procurement & Inventory Management:

    Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely availability of supplies for both administrative and research needs.
  • Safety & Security:

    Work alongside security to ensure the safety of staff, researchers, and visitors. Ensure that the institute follows all safety protocols, especially in lab environments.
  • Administrative Reporting:

    Generate regular administrative reports for the management team, providing updates on operational functions, compliance, vendor performance, etc.
  • Health & Wellness Programs:

    Coordinate health and wellness programs for the staff and research fellows, especially in terms of insurance and safety in a research/laboratory setting.
  • Government Liaison & Reporting:

    Act as the point of contact for statutory bodies, maintaining all required filings, reports, and documentation for government or regulatory compliance.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications:

    • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, Administration, or equivalent
    • Certification or training in

      HRIS

      ,

      labor laws

      , or

      HR compliance

      is a plus.
  • Experience:

    • 7–12 years in HR and administrative management, ideally in

      research institutes, universities, biotech, life sciences, or medical labs

    • Experience with

      academic HR functions

      (faculty contracts, academic policies) and

      research staff management

      is essential.
  • Key Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of

      HR processes, compliance, and systems

    • Recruitment experience

      for both technical and academic staff
    • Ability to handle

      administrative responsibilities

      and

      facility management

    • Expertise in

      employee welfare, performance management, and organizational development

    • Knowledge of statutory HR laws, government reporting, and research industry compliance
    • Excellent

      communication, documentation, and negotiation skills

    • Problem-solving

      and ability to manage conflicts in an academic research setting
    • Proficiency in

      HRMS

      and

      facility management systems

  • High confidentiality and responsibility mindset
