Housekeeping Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff
  
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards are maintained in all assigned areas
  
• Allocate duties and prepare duty rosters and shift schedules
  
• Inspect rooms, wards, offices, washrooms, and common areas for cleanliness
  
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety, and use of equipment
  
• Monitor proper usage of cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery
  
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and organizational policies
  
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the concerned department
  
• Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and place timely requisitions
  
• Handle staff attendance, performance monitoring, and discipline
  
• Address complaints related to cleanliness and ensure quick resolution
  
• Coordinate with other departments for smooth operations
  
• Maintain housekeeping records, checklists, and reports
  
• Ensure proper waste management and disposal as per guidelines
  
• Support audits, inspections, and quality control activities

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate / Diploma in Hotel Management or Housekeeping preferred
  
• Minimum

  25 years of experience

  in housekeeping operations in hotels or resorts
• Strong knowledge of hotel cleanliness standards, SOPs, and hygiene protocols
  
• Experience in supervising housekeeping staff and managing shifts/rosters
  
• Well-versed with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and linen management
  
• Ability to conduct room inspections and ensure quality standards
  
• Good communication and coordination skills
  
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and housekeeping documentation
  
• Understanding of safety standards and waste management practices
  
• Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  
• Physically fit and able to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
  
• Proficient in Hindi and basic English (local language preferred)
