Key Responsibilities

Student Care & Wellbeing

• Ensure the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of all boarders.
  
• Act as the first point of contact for students for day-to-day concerns.
  
• Maintain a caring, approachable, and supportive presence in the hostel.
  
• Monitor students behaviour, routines, and adjustment to boarding life.
  

Supervision & Discipline

• Supervise students during morning routines, meals, study hours, leisure time, and bedtime.
  
• Ensure adherence to hostel rules, discipline, and daily schedules.
  
• Maintain orderly conduct in dormitories, common areas, dining halls, and activity spaces.
  
• Address behavioural issues promptly and report serious concerns to the Head of Boarding / Management.
  

Health, Safety & Security

• Ensure student safety at all times within the boarding premises.
  
• Maintain records of attendance, movement registers, and night roll calls.
  
• Coordinate with school nurse, doctor, or hospital in case of illness or emergencies.
  
• Administer basic first aid and ensure medical protocols are followed.
  
• Ensure compliance with child safety, safeguarding, and emergency procedures.
  

Academic & Daily Routine Support

• Ensure students attend school, prep/study hours, and activities on time.
  
• Supervise evening study sessions and ensure a disciplined learning environment.
  
• Coordinate with teachers regarding academic concerns, homework, and progress.
  
• Encourage good study habits, time management, and responsibility.
  

Hygiene, Housekeeping & Facilities

• Ensure personal hygiene and cleanliness among students.
  
• Supervise housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness of hostels and washrooms.
  
• Ensure proper use and care of hostel property, furniture, and belongings.
  
• Report maintenance issues promptly.
  

Parent Communication & Reporting

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student wellbeing, behaviour, and health (as directed by management).
  
• Share updates, concerns, or incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all parent interactions.
  

Activities & Student Engagement

• Encourage participation in sports, cultural activities, and recreational programs.
  
• Help create a warm, homely, and positive boarding environment.
  
• Support character-building, life skills, discipline, and values aligned with Vishwa Vidyapeeths ethos.
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain hostel registers, incident reports, medical logs, and daily records.
  
• Ensure compliance with school policies, child protection norms, and statutory guidelines.
  
• Assist during inspections, audits, and reviews related to boarding facilities.
  

Boarding Responsibility

• This is a

  full-time residential role

• Wardens must stay on campus and be available beyond school hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (as per duty rosters).
  

Required Qualifications

• Graduate (any discipline) Education / Child Care / Psychology preferred
  
• Minimum

  25 years of experience

  in boarding schools, hostels, or residential child-care environments
• Experience working with children is mandatory

• Preference given for candidates from Army or defense personnel background

• Preferable age is 35-45 years

• Police Verification will be mandatorily conducted before final selection process
