Job Description

Hiring a Head of Product Design with a Leading Brand in Mumbai. Education: B.E / B.Tech - Mechanical or Production Experience: 14 Years to 20 Years into Product Design. Job Role: New Product Development, Enhancement to existing products and Customizations. Development of Mechanical Security Products and Barrier Technology. Designing high end security products complying to domestic as well as international standards, Burglary and fire-resistant solutions, Customized solutions, Blast and Bullet resistant solutions, Premises security solutions, Marine doors, Solutions for water/ airtight compartments, etc. with appropriate Design simulations. Shorten design & Development cycles to bring out new products at a faster pace using Industry best practices and process in NPI (New Product Introduction) development, in line with customer expectations, market trends, global product offerings and technology advancement. Product Testing, Validation and Certification Benchmarking competitor products on technology, specifications, and features to remain ahead of curve. Liaising with National and International Testing Laboratories, Product Certification agencies, Standards Formulation Bodies, Research Institutes, Educational Institutes for testing and certification of products, for developing innovative solutions. Active participation in developing/ improving BIS Standards covering security products Supporting QA (Quality Assurance) in establishing Quality procedures and Test equipment/ methods. Supporting Manufacturing and Service team to resolve customer complaints effectively. Innovation and Sustainability Fostering the culture of innovation to develop customer centric, cost-effective product solutions, good and green products. Product Life Cycle Assessment and working for circularity. Protecting designs with IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) People Development Managing Design processes and guide the team members to effectively use Design equipment & software to improve productivity. Reviewing design processes regularly and ensure continuous improvements in processes, design records, drawings, and Product Bill of Materials To be Instrumental in Managing PLM (Product Lifecycle management) Ensuring training and multiskilling of Protoshop operators. Organizational Initiatives & Statutory Compliance Providing active support to all companywide processes and initiatives such as Safety, Improvement initiatives, Business Excellence, IMS (Integrated Management System), etc. Understanding and ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements, in terms of Product compliances, Govt Orders like QCO (Quality Control Orders)
