Head Operations

Responsibilities:

• Lead plant ops & maintenance teams
• Oversee SMS, cold & hot rolling mills, blast furnaces

• Role Overview
• An accomplished professional with 20+years of extensive experience in stainless steel/ Iron making
• manufacturing operations to lead and manage overall plant operations. The ideal candidate should have
• successfully handled/ overseen multiple functions across SMS, CRM, HSM, and other connected
• steelmaking processes, with a strong command of both operations and maintenance practices.
• Should have been exposed to managing P&L responsibilities, optimizing production efficiency, and
• ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and cost standards.
• This position will directly support the Unit Head/Head of Plant in driving operational excellence and
• ensuring seamless coordination across departments. Strong leadership, people management, and
• decision-making skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee end-to-end plant operations including SMS, CRM, HSM, QA, Maintenance,
• and other key steelmaking processes.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvement, and cost optimization while ensuring
• adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Partner with the Unit Head/Head of Plant to define and execute short- and long-term business
• strategies.
• Manage P&L accountability ensuring financial targets are achieved and resources are
• optimized.
• Develop and implement frameworks for preventive and predictive maintenance, minimizing
• downtime and maximizing plant availability.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety norms.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of best practices in operations and
• process control.
• Lead, mentor, and build capability across functional teams to ensure organizational growth and
• sustainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of operations, quality, and
• business objectives.
• Upskill and monitor key talent pool members, ensuring their growth and readiness for future roles.
• Drive capability-building initiatives to strengthen team competencies and overall organizational
• effectiveness.
• Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgy/ Mechanical/ Production/ related field)
• reputed university. A master’s degree in management/ Operations will be an added advantage.
• 20+ years of leadership experience in large integrated steel or stainless-steel manufacturing
• organizations with a minimum production capacity of 1 MTPA.&2 MTpA
• Strong exposure to multiple functions including SMS, CRM, HSM, QA, Maintenance, and
• other key operational domains.
• Proven expertise in plant operations management, maintenance planning, process
• optimization, and P&L handling.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership and drive organizational growth.
