Head of Visual Merchandising

Work location: Tamil Nadu

About the Role:

1. Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers expectations and companys objectives
2. Analyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock
3. Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scales
4. Maximise customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
5. Produce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventory
6. Forecast profits/sales and plan budgets
7. Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc
8. Build constructive customer relationships and team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
9. Remain up to date with industrys best practices

This usually requires a specialized degree such as from NIFT/FDDI (For the Apparel or Footwear industry) or a very strong Marketing degree and relevant experience.
