Head of the Department (Catering Technology & Catering Science)

As the Head of the Department (HOD) for Catering Technology & Catering Science at our institution in Tamil Nadu, your role will be crucial in shaping the academic and industry-oriented direction of the department. You will report directly to the Principal / Dean / Director and lead a team of faculty and staff towards excellence. Your skills & competencies should include: - Demonstrating excellent leadership and team management abilities to provide guidance to faculty and staff members. - Designing effective curriculum with a strong understanding of accreditation standards such as NAAC, NBA, AICTE, or University requirements. - Leveraging a strong industry network to facilitate internships, placements, and collaborations for the benefit of students. - Showcasing good administrative and organizational skills, including budgeting and resource management capabilities. - Possessing high-level communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, faculty, and industry partners effectively. - Driving research, innovation, and consultancy projects within the catering and hospitality sector. - Having a genuine passion for student development and fostering a culture of excellence within the department. To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Masters Degree in Catering Technology or Hotel Management (PhD preferred). - A minimum of 10 years of combined teaching and industry experience, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership capacity. - A proven track record in academics, research, and industry collaboration.
