Head of Product Development- Color Cosmetics

Role Overview

One of our Client is looking for a visionary Head of Product Development to lead formulation and innovation at Sabomi Cosmetics, shaping the future of our color cosmetics line.Turning my creative vision into high-performance, breakthrough products designed to celebrate and serve brown skin tones.

Key Possibilities

● Lead the development of all product formulas, with a core focus on color cosmetics for

brown skin.

● Coordinate with labs, vendors, and internal teams for sample tracking, testing, and timely

execution.

● Maintain the product development tracker-formulas, feedback, iteration rounds, and lab

communication.

● Translate creative concepts into precise technical briefs for R&D.

● Drive shade development and complexion matching, ensuring nuanced and inclusive

shade ranges.

● Demonstrate expertise in SPF, sweat-proofing, oil control, and climate-adaptive formulas

tailored for Indian skin needs.

● Collect and organize benchmark samples, testing protocols, and shade feedback for

continuous improvement.

● Continuously monitor and integrate ingredient innovations, global beauty trends, and

regulatory changes.

● Collaborate closely with marketing and creative teams to ensure products align with

brand vision and luxury positioning.

Requirements

● 3+ years of experience in product development or formulation support (preferably in

color cosmetics).

● Strong background in cosmetic chemistry, with deep knowledge of pigmentation and

formulation for deeper skin tones.

● Advanced understanding of color theory, undertones, and pigment behavior on brown

skin.

● Knowledge of global cosmetic regulations (EU, FDA, India, etc.).

● Deep Understanding of raw materials, active ingredients, and functional additives.

● Strong vendor/lab coordination and communication skills.

● A fast learner with a creative, futuristic mindset, capable of translating bold ideas into

market-ready products.

● Passionate about beauty, pigment diversity, and sensory performance.

● Thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments with entrepreneurial energy.

● Excellent communication skills, proficiency in English and Hindi required.
