The platform operates end-to-end digitally, serves a large merchant ecosystem, and currently invests customer funds in liquid instruments. Lending is a key monetisation lever and a strategic priority for the business.
This is a foundational leadership role responsible for building and scaling the lending vertical from the ground up. The Head – Lending will own lending strategy, monetisation, credit risk, partnerships, and execution, while eventually leading the transition from partner-led lending to lending on the company’s own balance sheet.
This role requires a strong builder mindset, deep lending expertise, and the ability to balance ambition with disciplined execution.
-Own the lending P&L and define the end-to-end lending strategy.
-Build scalable small-ticket loan products (₹20–30K range) with daily EMI structures.
-Drive monetisation while ensuring strong unit economics and risk controls.
-Design and oversee credit policies, underwriting frameworks, collections, and risk management.
-Work closely with product, tech, and data teams to deliver fully digital lending journeys.
-Lead partnerships with NBFCs and banks for off-book lending, including commercial structuring and governance.
-Plan and execute the transition from partner balance sheets to own-book lending over time.
-Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing lending team.
-Act as the internal thought leader on credit, lending, and regulatory considerations.
- Around 15 years of experience in digital lending, fintech, NBFCs, or consumer/merchant credit platforms.
-Proven experience building and scaling lending businesses, preferably in small-ticket, high-frequency loan products.
-Strong exposure to lending for informal, semi-formal, or underbanked segments.
-Former founders or early leaders who have built lending verticals from scratch.
-Experience at large fintech or digital lending platforms with strong credit DNA.
-Hands-on experience working with NBFCs and banks for lending partnerships.
-Deep understanding of credit risk, underwriting, collections, and lending economics.
-Strong product orientation with the ability to work closely with tech and data teams.
-Commercially sharp with a balance of growth and risk discipline.
-Builder-first, execution-oriented, and comfortable operating in high-ambiguity environments.
-Aspirational yet rational; capable of thinking long-term while delivering near-term results.
