The Head - Gold Loan Operations will be responsible for leading the gold loan vertical within Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) platform. This role entails end-to-end ownership of the gold loan business including strategy formulation, product development, branch network expansion, compliance, operations, risk management, and profitability. The incumbent will be instrumental in building this business as a new venture, aligning it with the overall vertical within Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) ecosystem.
The role requires a deep understanding of the gold loan market, regulatory landscape (including RBI norms for NBFCs and gold-backed lending), customer behaviour in semi-urban and rural segments, and competitive dynamics. The Head will drive innovation in product offerings and customer service, while ensuring strict adherence to risk controls, infrastructure standards for gold storage, and security protocols.
A key responsibility will be to establish a robust operational framework including standardization of processes, technology enablement, gold appraisal and valuation methods, and training of branch and field staff. The individual will also lead recruitment, team building, and capability development for the gold loan business, while setting up systems for performance monitoring and audit readiness. This leadership position plays a critical role in building a sustainable and scalable gold loan franchise, contributing significantly to the NBFCs asset growth and diversification strategy.
