ROLE PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
- Responsiblefor strategizing and executing delivery plans for providingbest-in-class IT Application support to improve the efficiency ofbusiness processes.
- Overseeingthe selection, deployment, operations and maintenance ofenterprise grade business applications.
- Reviewthe business requirement of the user departments, apply technicalfeasibility basis dependency on the system, business benefitsalong with the product and the application team and come out withthe best possible business solution within agreed timelines andat the best cost.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
Business/Financials
Allocationof user department & application team
- Overseethe team members' allocation and mapping to respective userdepartments and corresponding applications.
- Decideon the allocation of the team members basis theirexperience and skill sets.
- Engagewith the user department and application team for criticalchanges or business solutions to aid the team member indocumenting the requirement.
- Createand circulate the escalation matrix of the team to the userdepartment and application team to enable them to reach out attimes of need and intervention
Reviewand validate the user requirement.
- Overseethat Line of Business Applications and Enterprise Applications(integration stack, others) support business goals and meet userrequirements
- Overseethat applications' development, deployment and support align withbusiness strategies, maximizing operational effectiveness.
- Identifyall high-priority items within the team and have the businesssolutiondocumentedat the earliest.
- Reviewthe business requirement of the user department and study thetechnical feasibility report.
- Reviewthe business requirement document to check the coverage, scope,need, and impact of changes requested are detailed and complete,which will facilitate the development team to deliver without anyiteration/clarification.
- Engagewith the user department with the team member and take themthrough the solution/change proposed to check the requirementsare met completely.
- Assessthe proposed solution, validate the same basis bank's internalscore, and decide on internal/ external development.
Finalization& review of business solution.
- Liaisonwith key business users and internal customers to understandtheir requirements for the year
- Analyzethe usage, performance, and capacity management of existingapplications and identify avenues to aid the larger managementgoals
- Reviewthe compliance requirements with respect to IT and takeappropriate actions to ensure conformance with all organizationalnorms.
- Trackadvancement/ changes in IT technology both within and outside theindustry, analyze its utility for the organization and draftaction plans in case it can aid the organization in achieving itsobjectives
- Decideon the best possible solution based on self-assessment of thedocument and inputs from the product and application team.
- Decideon the vendor in case of external application development throughthe Bank's internal process of scrutiny and selection.
- Monitorinternal and external projects under Solution Delivery closelyand update the functional head weekly on the progress.
- Engagewith the relevant teams internally to support the testing andfixing of all pre-production bugs found during the testing beforethe movement of change to production.
- Engagewith the internal and application team, take stock of all thepostproduction challenges, and confirm the same has been fixed,if any.
Delivery of business solutions.
- Reviewthe feedback from the user department and apply the learnings inthe daily process of solutioning by the team
- Engagewith the user department to understand the gaps and conduct RCAin case of non-fulfilment of requirements.
- Directthe team to create an FAQ for business solutionspost-implementation based on data analysis to assist the userdepartments.
- Sharethe review with the application and project management teams incase of any technical issues that can be resolved through minorchanges.
- Identifyopportunities for improvements and enhancements in the existingapplications basis end user inputs and analysis of newrequirements (if any)
- Supervisethe requirement gathering, conceptualization, design, testing,and implementation of the proposed solutions to achieve highcustomer satisfaction and ensure compliance with organization ITsecurity requirements
- Overseesmooth integration of enhancements with the existing systems
- Leadthe development of Application Roadmaps for enhancements byconsulting business function leads, system integrators andvendors.
- Leadthe Application Support Teams ensuring that collective andindividual objectives of different application teams are alignedto business outcomes.
Customer(Both Internal & External)
- Engagewith the application and product team in case of any furtherclarifications or inputs to finalize the / requirements of thebusiness solution/change.
- Explorewith the internal team and application team and decide on theviability of completing a regulatory project within agreedtimelines internally or exploring externally.
- Collaboratewith the application team to understand the pre or postproductionissues and support the team to resolve the same within thetimelines.
- Monitorwith the team internally to ensure all the necessary approvalsare in place.
- Engagewith the team to scout for external vendors for those identifiedto be sourced from the market.
- Coordinatewith the project management team for significant changes orsolutions
Internal Process
- Overseethe selection, deployment, upgrading and maintenance of Line ofBusiness and Enterprise software is subject to appropriate andrelevant governance.
- Reviewthe business requirements of various user departments andidentify the common need and apply the existing functionality
- Evaluatethe need and usage to arrive at a standard solution like MIS,automation, data validation etc.,
- Guidethe team to identify data availability before initiating thechange to capture additional information to reduce inefficiency.
- Assessthe impact of the changes in an application used by multiple userdepartments to ensure non-disruption of existing functionality.
- Overseeday-to-day incident management and bug fix resolutions, andensure user Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met
- ReviewSLA adherence, user satisfaction, and compliance periodically andtake regular feedback from end users to ensure high customersatisfaction.
- Communicatewith IT infrastructure and security team to ensure necessarychanges are done for the integration of new application solutionsor enhancement.
- Reviewand guide the team to use the existing solution/functionality andreplicate the same if that meets the user requirements.
- Implementthe practice of documenting the inter-dependencies noticed by theteam across system/user groups in case of a common applicationthat will facilitate the application team to develop regressiontesting.
- Superviseto ensure that all the business solutions are in accordance withRBI and internal guidelines.
- Overseethat all the business solutions are completed within timelines.
- Respondto all the audit observations internal or external withinthe timelines decided by the management.
Innovation & Learning
- Trackteam performance at an overall and individual level and providesupport/ guidance wherever required to ensure achievement ofyearly plans
- Manageeffective resource allocation, enhance the capability quotient ofteam members and drive higher team engagement through appropriateHR interventions
- Supervisethe training and grooming of the new member to the team on theexisting applications and introduce them to the user departmentsas well as the application team
- Encouragethe team to undergo all relevant certification programs.
- Harnessclose collaboration with user verticals to ensure the creation ofa suitable backup.
- Promotethe culture of lateral thinking and encourage people to think outof the box for providing in-house, cost-effective solutions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Educational Qualifications
Experience
- Must possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant working experience in asenior IT position within a fast-paced and constantly evolving. BFSI Domain with IT experience
