Job Description

HCL BigFix Administrator / Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HCL BigFix Administrator/Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support enterprise endpoint management solutions. The role involves patch management, compliance enforcement, software distribution, asset discovery, and security remediation using HCL BigFix across diverse IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administration & Operations

Install, configure, and maintain HCL BigFix platform (Core Server, Relays, Consoles, WebUI, and Agents).

Manage patch management lifecycle (Windows, Linux, UNIX, macOS) including testing, scheduling, and deployment.

Create and manage custom fixlets, tasks, baselines, and policies for endpoint compliance and remediation.

Integrate BigFix with databases, reporting tools, and SIEM/SOAR platforms.

Security & Compliance

Implement endpoint security configurations (DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, industry standards), customize If needed

Monitor compliance dashboards, generate reports, and support audit requirements.

Automate vulnerability remediation workflows and collaborate with Security/Vulnerability teams.

Software & Asset Management

Package, test, and deploy enterprise applications using BigFix Software Distribution module.

Maintain accurate asset inventory (hardware/software) via BigFix Discovery.

Performance & Troubleshooting

Monitor and optimize BigFix infrastructure performance.

Troubleshoot agent/server issues and provide Level 2/3 support for endpoint management.

Collaboration

Work with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams for patch compliance and endpoint governance.

Support change management and downtime coordination for patching cycles.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong knowledge of HCL BigFix platform (minimum 2 4 years hands-on).

Expertise in patch management, automation scripting (Relevance Language, Action Script, PowerShell, Shell scripting).

Experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix administration.

Knowledge of SQL Server/DB2 databases for BigFix backend operations.

Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint security practices.

Understanding of vulnerability management processes (Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7 integration a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in HCL BigFix Administrator / Specialist.

ITIL Foundation knowledge for incident/change management.

Experience with BigFix Inventory, Lifecycle, Compliance, and Insights modules.

Strong communication skills for working with global IT teams.
