Hardware and Networking Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Hardware and Networking Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading hardware systems and ensuring smooth network connectivity across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, LAN/WAN systems, and networking protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Support:

Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware peripherals.

Perform hardware diagnostics and replace faulty components.

Ensure optimal performance and availability of all computing equipment.

Manage hardware inventory and asset tracking.

Networking:

Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and other networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Ensure network security by implementing appropriate firewalls, policies, and antivirus solutions.

Perform regular backups, updates, and patches of network devices.

Technical Support:

Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end-users.

Resolve hardware, network, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.

Maintain documentation of issues and resolutions.

Security & Compliance:

Implement and monitor IT security protocols and access controls.

Assist in disaster recovery and data protection initiatives.

Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and external regulations.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting techniques.

Proficient in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, subnetting, routing, and switching.

Experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).

Knowledge of firewall configurations and security principles.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and documentation skills.
