Purpose of the Job:Drive IR strategy aligned with business objectives.
Major Responsibilities: Ensure consistent and fair implementation of disciplinary actions and grievance redressal.
Promote a performance-driven and participative culture among the shop floor workforce.
Manage all union negotiations including long-term settlement (LTS) discussions.
Develop and maintain healthy, constructive relationships with union leaders and workmen.
Serve as the key contact point between management and the workers’ union.
Anticipate and mitigate potential conflicts through proactive engagement.
Support the LTS process including drafting proposals, coordinating with legal/HR teams, cost impact analysis, and closure documentation.
Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable labour laws and industrial statutes (Factories Act, ID Act, Trade Unions Act, etc.).
Coordinate with legal counsel on labour disputes and represent the company at labour court/conciliations, if needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to IR and compliance.
Facilitate transparent communication between management and workmen to build trust and engagement.
Plan and implement employee communication platforms such as joint consultative committees, safety committees, etc.
Identify IR risks and develop mitigation plans.
Skills: Proven experience in managing IR in unionized manufacturing setups.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
Ability to build credibility with both shop floor employees and senior leadership.
Sound judgment, resilience under pressure, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in handling LTS will be a plus
Relevant Experience: 15-18 Years
Education Qualification(s): Postgraduate in HR / IR / Labour Law / MSW / MBA (HR)*
