Role Overview: As a General Manager of Plant Operations at our leading API manufacturing company, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations at our two manufacturing units in Surat. Your role will require strong strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, and hands-on management in various areas such as production, logistics, IT systems, compliance, and human resources, with a particular focus on GMP and global audit readiness. Key Responsibilities: - Lead multi-unit production operations effectively to ensure quality, safety, and timely output. - Manage warehousing, logistics, and distribution to facilitate a seamless supply chain flow. - Ensure the implementation of robust IT systems and automation frameworks at the plant. - Oversee HR and administration functions to ensure compliance with labor laws and promote a positive work culture. - Drive plant-wide regulatory compliance, including preparedness for international audits from organizations such as EDQM, US FDA, ANVISA, PMDA, WHO, etc. - Optimize resource planning and cost control across manpower, materials, and machinery. - Spearhead process improvement and digitization initiatives to boost productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks. - Mentor and develop teams to enhance leadership capabilities and encourage continuous learning. Qualification Required: - You should possess 25+ years of experience in complex plant operations, with exposure to production, logistics, HR, IT, and administration. - A degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent is required. - Demonstrated success in handling international regulatory audits and client inspections across global markets like EU, US, LATAM, and Asia. - Prior experience in leading large cross-functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment is essential. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are a must. - Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with fluency in English. - Industry background in API Manufacturing, Bulk Drug or Chemical Manufacturing, or Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Manufacturing is preferred.
