General Ledger Accounting Analyst

Ecolab is searching for a driven General Ledger Accounting Analyst for future opportunities within our Finance division in Pune, India.

Ecolab is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team. In this position, you will assist and contribute to maintain fixed asset accounts to comply with DTP, policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information.

Prepare and record journal entries. Being responsible of training Junior Analyst on main RTR process.

What You Will Do:

1. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger.
2. Perform month end accruals and closing activities like Fx revaluation, VAT settlement, prepaid accruals, etc.
3. Manage ERP and technologies tools like SAP, HFM, OnBase, etc.
4. Prepare and enter journal entries into Blackline. Explain, preparer and maintain support documentation.
5. Prepare account reconciliations. Perform analysis, follow-Up on open Items, maintain support documentation and escalate unreconciled items to the correct level.
6. Prepare support documentation for audit purpose. (SOX, internal and external) and Participate in the writing, updating, and defining Desktop Procedures, Policies and Narratives.
7. Being responsible to detect and escalate all process and accounting tasks that are not working properly or need to be improved.
8. Collaborate with Team Leads and Senior analysts in different tasks where they support is required.
9. Maintain fluid communication with stakeholders and other GBS teams.
10. Collaborate with Team Leads and Senior analysts in the planning, development, and implementation of projects.
11. Support Team Leads in preparation of trainings and in the detection of training opportunities.
12. Assist and train Junior Analysts in their daily work.
13. Contribute to knowledge management activities by identifying and updating knowledge as requested and required.
14. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and participating in improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Degree or advance students in accounting or finance and fewer than two years experience.
2. Familiarity with fundamental business principles, processes, and terminology.
3. Knowledge of Excel / Microsoft tools.
4. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes in a dynamic business environment.
5. Ability to work with data accurately and pay attention to details.
6. Strong verbal and written communications.
7. Strong Excel and Microsoft tools skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Basic knowledge of USGAAPs / IFRS.
2. Knowledge of Process Improvement tools (i.e. LSS).
3. Knowledge of SAP, HFM and Power BI will be a plus.
