About The Opportunity

• Perform elective and emergency gastrointestinal surgeries using advanced laparoscopic and open techniques while ensuring best-practice perioperative care.
• Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services (upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy; perform therapeutic interventions as indicated).
• Manage HPB and complex GI oncology cases in collaboration with medical oncology, radiology and anaesthesia teams; participate in tumour board discussions.
• Lead preoperative assessment, postoperative care and complication management; own clinical documentation, informed consent and discharge planning.
• Drive quality improvement: participate in clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews and protocol development to enhance surgical outcomes and patient safety.
• Supervise and mentor surgical trainees and nursing staff; contribute to training programmes and continuing professional development activities.

• Fellowship in GI Surgical Oncology or HPB Surgery
  

Qualifications

• MBBS with MS (General Surgery) and MCh/DNB (GI Surgery) or equivalent surgical qualification.
• Registered with the National Medical Commission or relevant State Medical Council.
• Proven clinical experience in a high-volume tertiary centre managing complex GI/HPB cases and endoscopic therapy; able to work on-site and participate in emergency rosters.
